I went through the objectives for the communication skills portion of CDM and compiled a list of answers. They might not look too detailed but a lot of it seems like common sense.

And for the extroverts trying to incorporate medical acronyms and logical thought process into your everyday life... some variations on the CAGE and VINDICATED acronyms to make them applicable to more than just CDM.
"CAGE" questions to screen/test for IAD (internet addictino disorder).
C- Do you find yourself CRAVING social network sites and random videos (such as those on youtube, college humor, the onion...).
A- Do you get ANNOYED at people who do not take their online profiles seriously (Like OMG post a profile pic)
G- How about GUILT for not updating your status everytime you you get a new _ (insert object, clothes, hair styles, friend, pet...)
E- Have you ever had an EYE OPENER where internet loss for a day/hour/minute caused you to react violently (like... really violently)
Note test has been found (by some random accreditation process) to be both specific and sensitive to nearly 100% in the cases where the subject considered the answer yes to appropriate response to any one of the categories.
The VINDICATED method for diagnosing automobile problems:
Valves – gaskets, o-rings, intake valve, exhaust valve…
Intake- fuel or air and the associated filters
Nuts and Bolts- check everything is tight
Distributor Cap- check it for cracks (can often be the cause of mysterious engine issues)
Ignition- starter, spark plugs, battery…
Cooling System Check- radiator, and all fluid levels, oil cooling, fins, cracks in hoses…
Alternator- over charging the battery can boil batteries dry…
Timing- check the timing for pistons, pumps etc… also check idling
Electronic- fuses, wiring, ignition wires
Document- check documentation for standard upkeep (brakes, fluid level changes, belts, tires)
